They Keep Kidnapping Me– Siasia’s Mother Cries

“The carried us to their chairman place. I don’t even know the man. They called Seifa and Seifa came.
“As I am talking to you, I am not well. Before they took me I was not well. I want to go to the hospital.
“They built small house and use tarpaulin to cover the top. That was where they kept us”.
When she was told that she won’t be kidnapped again, Siasia’s mother quickly said Amen.
But she added: “They keep worrying me because they said my son, Siasia is rich and a millionaire”.
Also one of the victims, who was abducted when he took some undisclosed amount of money to the kidnappers, said on getting to where they directed him, the gunmen surrounded his boat, blindfolded him and took him away.
Relieving his ordeal, he said: “Where they kept us was very bad. I didn’t see anything there and I didn’t recognise anybody because before I got to the place, they blindfolded me.
“But the place was rough. We slept on benches. There was no foam. At times, they fed us with garri and beans.
“We used oil to eat garri. Sometimes, they cooked yellow soup and any how they cooked it you will eat because you want to live.
“I was in a critical condition. They were fond of beating me maybe because I am a man.
‘They would beat me morning, afternoon and night. They would tie me before I sleep.
“Even if mosquitoes were biting me, I couldn’t chase them away. They kept four people to guide me. I suffered a lot”.

Tacha is the first housemate of the Big Brother Naija 'Pepper Dem' season 4 to be disqualified from the house.
Biggie's reason for her disqualification was over the altercation she had with Mercy earlier in the day. Tacha had in her fight with Mercy pulled her hair twice. Biggie sent her packing for obviously breaking the rules of the house.
Mercy, on the other hand, was handed two strikes for her altercation with Tacha. Since Biggie announced the news, fans of the most-watched reality TV show in Nigeria have been reacting to the disqualification of Tacha. Here are some of the tweets from fans after Tacha got sent home unceremoniously.

It was learnt yesterday from sources within the secret Police that the agency was not in a hurry to release the activist, saying: “We are aware of the court order, but we are still keeping him to be arraigned next week on charges that Nigerians will know of when he gets to court.”
Meanwhile, investigative journalists around the world yesterday joined the call for Sowore’s immediate release, just as the human rights lawyer, Ebun Olu-Adegboruwa (SAN) has declared his continued detention by the DSS illegal.
In her speech delivered at the on-going Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Hamburg, Germany, the Director, Media, Technology and Advocacy Specialisation, Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, Anya Schiffrin, lamented Sowore’s continued detention by the DSS even after reportedly meeting his bail conditions.

According to her, most of the youths in Lagos would come to her husband’s house, claiming “they want to enjoy Asiwaju’s money.”
She, however, expressed displeasure that “most of these youths don’t want to work”, adding that “the moment you give them work to do, they fall sick.”
Sen. Tinubu added that youths of nowadays are interested in making quick money, “but they don’t want to work before making the money.”
She added that, “our youths are very rude because they want to be like all those people abroad.”
Speaking on a Lagos Television programme on Saturday morning, Tinubu said her New Era Foundation Patience Home had concluded plans to empower youths in her senatorial district.
Tinubu disclosed that 10 youths each from all the local governments under Lagos CentraI would benefit from the empowerment initiative.
The Lagos Senator enjoined youths in her senatorial district to contact their local government chairmen and avail themselves of the opportunities provided by the foundation.

Buhari sacks tribunal chairman

 0
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sack of the Chairman, Investment and Securities Tribunal (IST), Mr. Siaka Isiah Idoko-Akoh. This is contained in a circular by the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Finance, Dr. Mahmoud Isa-Dutse.
“I write to convey the approval of Mr. President for your removal from office as the Chairman of the Investment and Securities Tribunal (IST) with immediate effect. Accordingly, you are required to hand over the office of the Chairman including all property(ies) of the IST in your custody to Mr. J. I. Udunni, a full time member of the Tribunal, who by this same letter from the State House has been appointed as Acting Chairman of the IST,” the memo said.
Reacting to the development, the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) commended President Muhammadu Buhari for removing Mr. Idoko-Akoh, as the IST Chairman.
The Chairman FCT Council, Comrade Aliyu Maradun and Ag. Secretary FCT Council, Comrade Adebanjo Jubril of AUPCTRE, one of the affiliate unions of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), at a joint briefing yesterday in Abuja said the suspended IST Chairman vehemently oppose the progress and actualization of the mandate given by President Mohammed Buhari, on IST and its workers. “It is very unfortunate that the Chairman, Investment and Securities Tribunal (IST) Mr. Isiah Idoko-Akoh, unilaterally handled IST as if it is his own personal private property without recourse to Civil/ Public Service Rules and Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

BREAKING: Osinbajo breaks silence on corruption allegations, reveals plan

Prof. Osinbajo made this declaration in a tweet he personally authored via his official Twitter handle @profOsinbajo, Wednesday afternoon.
Below is the full text of his tweet:
“In the past few days, a spate of reckless and malicious falsehoods have been peddled in the media against me by a group of malicious individuals.
“The defamatory and misleading assertions invented by this clique had mostly been making the social media rounds anonymously.
“I have today instructed the commencement of legal action against two individuals, one Timi Frank and another Katch Ononuju, who have put their names to these odious falsehoods.
“I will waive my constitutional immunity to enable the most robust adjudication of these claims of libel and malicious falsehood.”
The decision was taken at a meeting of the commission’s board with the joint Trade Union Congress in Abuja on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the union had also demanded that the commission seek judicial interpretation of its constitutional mandate for appointment into the force which had been at the centre of the dispute with the police management.
The police and the commission had been at loggerheads over the recruitment of 10,000 constables with the IG insisting on his right to conduct the exercise.
The IG had ignored the suspension of the recruitment by the commission and released a list of successful candidates, which the PSC board said was padded with unqualified candidates who did not take part in the process.
Following the crisis, President Muhammadu Buhari directed the two parties to work together.
But an impeccable source, who was at the meeting between the commission and the TUC, explained that all promotions in the police would be suspended.
The highlights of the decisions taken at the meeting read in part, “The meeting rose with a management decision to endorse the demand and stand of the union that the commission must seek judicial interpretation of its constitutional mandate for appointment which has been at the centre of the dispute.
“The management also agreed with the union that all police promotions will be suspended until further notice. The union had also demanded that the commission withdraw all delegated powers extended to the IG since they have been abused.”
When contacted, the commission’s spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, said he had not been briefed on the latest decisions taken by the management on the recruitment crisis.
Meanwhile, the commission has filed an originating summons at the Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking a restraining order stopping the IG from taking any further action on the recruitment.
The case, which was filed on Tuesday, had yet to be assigned to any judge.
The PUNCH learnt that the suit was part of the conditions given to the PSC board by the workers’ union to call off its over one-week-old strike.
The union Chairman, Adoyi Adoyi, confirmed the development on Wednesday on the phone.
The labour leader accused the police of withholding N12m meant for the commission workers who supervised the Nigeria Police Academy 7th Regular Course degree programmes entrance examination in August.

He said that some of the people who were working frantically to drag the name and integrity of the Vice President in the mud were even people from his geo-political region, the Southwest.
Pastor Akinmade explained that they were deploying resources to fight the Vice President, stressing that, Nigerians must pray for the well being of the number two man.
He said he saw in a vision, some politicians gathering and in their midst were some journalists too.
“They were planning how they will disgrace the Vice President and ridicule him in the eyes on Nigerians using fake news.
“The Bible is very clear. Gather they shall gather but if their gathering is not of the Lord Almighty it will be destroyed and scattered. I enjoin all Nigerians to pray for the Vice President,” he said.
Pastor Akinmade said the story of the Vice President is not different from those of Mordecai and Daniel in the Bible who evil people schemed against but eventually fell for their own plot.
He urged Nigerians to be wary of any negative report or stories that are in the media about the Vice President.
“In the vision, I heard a voice saying where is their proof, where is their evidence, where is their proof.
“It was then I realized that there was no proof or evidence against him, it was then I saw that they had only gathered against God’s choosen to do him evil and in that instance I began to pray in the spirit.”
He warned the Vice President to be careful of those around him and those who are his friends especially politically and spiritually. He also warned him to be careful of some people from the Southwest.
“His biggest enemies are those from the South, mainly the Southwest. Those who he might think are his brothers and sisters are among those who have ganged up against him. They have seen his glory and they are trying everything humanly possible but they forget that man is not God.
He urged Nigerians to pray for the Vice President noting that the will of God cannot be truncated at all. “I do not know the Vice President personally but this is what I have to say to him, Sir, be very prayerful. You are a sheep in the midst of wolves.

He said this in reaction to the latest actions taken by President Muhammadu Buhari allegedly targeted at his deputy.
President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly met recently with Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande, former APC Interim National Chairman of the APC.
He reportedly complained about certain actions of the Vice President, and allegedly asked the duo to prevail on Osinbajo to resign his appointment from the cabinet.
According to the news, while Akande was said to have opposed resignation, Tinubu allegedly supported the President and claimed that nothing was wrong with Osinbajo quitting if found to be culpable.
Reacting, Tinubu’s spokesman, Tunde Rahman, denied rift between his principal and Osinbajo.
“There is no truth in the allegation that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is against the Vice President. There is nothing stopping the Vice President from nursing a presidential ambition. If he wants to run, let him run.
“We are all watching and waiting. It is all a bundle of lies that Asiwaju Tinubu is unhappy about that. People are just politicising the situation. Tinubu cannot muscle his own boy in any way”, he said.
Last Thursday, Osinbajo stated that the Economic Management Team (EMT) which he heads was not scrapped or dissolved by the president.
Buhari had on Monday, constituted an Economic Advisory Council (EAC), which is widely believed would take over the functions of the EMT.
In response to an enquiry from the National Economic Council (NEC), which comprises the 36 state governors, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), among others, Osinbajo noted that both councils were for the benefit of the President
He added that, “If NEC want to be briefed regularly by the Economic Advisory Council, EAC, we will request the President to do that”.
Osinbajo explained to the council that such interaction will promote synergy.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, confirmed that he and his colleagues discussed Buhari’s new team with the VP.
Yahaya said: “Governors requested for clarification from NEC’s chairman-the vice president (Osinbajo), on the relationship between NEC and the newly informed Economic Advisory Council.
“And the vice president explained that those councils are advisory for the benefit of the President while NEC is established by the constitution, they are to complement one another.
“He added that NEC could be briefed regularly on the activities of the Economic Advisory Council with the permission of the president,” he added.
Cossy had also lambasted her former friend, Halima Abubakar, calling her a snake. She alleged that Abubakar’s ex-boyfriend had written a story that she (Cossy) slept with a dog for money.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Cossy insisted that she wasn’t looking for an apology from Abubakar, but she just wanted closure. She said, “I told my story so as to let go of the burden I had been carrying for long. When one doesn’t like certain people, one lets them know and set oneself free. It’s not about getting an apology, it’s about my history. It’s so unfortunate that I allowed her (Abubakar) into my life.”
Cossy, who just released a new movie, House of Talent, also stated that she had no qualms with using sex toys. “Whatever makes you happy, just hold on to it. If using a sex toy makes one happy, then one should grab it with both hands because life is too short to live for people. Just do you and the world will adjust,” she said.

Osinbajo, who is reportedly having a running battle with the Aso Villa cabal is also said not to be in the good book of Tinubu over his presidential ambition.
It was gathered that Tinubu had once approached the Vice President to ask if he was nursing any presidential ambition to which the latter replied in the negative.
Tinubu was said to have come across a video recording of a directive by Osinbajo to his political associates on his plan to start his campaign for his presidential ambition almost two years into the tenure of his boss.
The development was said to have angered Tinubu who noted that the Vice President cannot be trusted.
It was due to the disagreement that the vice president’s nominee for the commissionership slot in Lagos State, Mr. Obafemi George, was rejected by the State House of Assembly.
Besides, information gathered by Sunday Independent further revealed that some associates of the Vice President had sought information on certain dealings of Tinubu while working abroad, with the intention of using it against his benefactor during the presidential election.
Already, President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly met recently with Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande, former Interim National Chairman of the APC, during which he complained about certain actions of the Vice President, and allegedly asked the duo to prevail on Osinbajo to resign his appointment from the cabinet.
While Akande was said to have opposed such action, Tinubu allegedly supported the President and claimed that nothing was wrong with Osinbajo quitting if found to be culpable in some actions taken behind the president and which Buhari was not happy about.
Already, several actions to further humble the Vice President out of office are in the pipeline. These include the sack of his associates from government and the plan not to renew the tenure of the present Chairman of the Federal Internal Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr. Babtunde Fowler.

Fake pastor arrested over alleged rape attempt

 0

One David Daniel, who claimed to be a pastor, has been arrested for allegedly making attempt to rape a lady in Ejigbo area of Lagos State.
Daniel, who was later discovered to be a fake pastor, was said to have come from Okokomaiko to meet the lady (name withheld) in her beads shop at Ailegun Road, Ile-Epo, Ejigbo and prophesied about her life and business.
According to the lady, the accused pastor started masturbating while exorcising the acclaimed evil spirits in her as he (Daniel) confessed to the police that he was making a trick to have sex with the victim after he disclosed that he had not been to church for the past five years.
Narrating the incident, the victims said the man came into her shop, thinking he has come to buy something from her because she sold beads and perfumes but rather, he started prophesying that some wicked people were planning to silent her business, which she believed because she usually saw blood at the shop when she came in the morning.
She continued: “And he asked if I had anointing oil and I said no, he then asked for water which I brought to him. Then he asked for my age, I said 33 years old. He said I would need to pay N33,000 as seed before he could do anything for me. I told him I didn’t have such money then he asked how long I have spent in that shop and I said more than three years. So, he said I should pay N3,050 before doing anything, I didn’t have the cash so I sent my sister to go and get the money from the bank, and he started prophesying and revealing other things which made me believe him because it was what was happening to me.
“He said he wanted to go and bless my newly rented house and that he was now my God father that I should always call him to tell him what’s happening to me.
“So, when my sister came with the money, he asked me to place the money and the prayer points he has given me on the Bible, and he asked me to pray on the prayer points one side. After I did, he packed the money in the Bible, and he burned the prayer points and packed the ashes in nylon with the matches used and asked me to throw it in the dustbin.”
She said further that the suspect later came back the same day to pray for her in the midnight and also promised to come the next day to go and bless her newly rented house.
According to her, it was in her house where the suspect made attempt to rape her while pretending to be praying for her when he was caught, beaten and taken to Ejigbo Police Station.
The DPO, Ejigbo Police Division, ASP Olabisi Okuwobi, said the suspect would soon be charged to court as he confessed to have committed the offence.
